The short answer

Food truck catering at a Sydney data centre runs from $18 to $35 per head plus GST, all inclusive, with a minimum of 60 guests. Every truck carries its own generator, gas and water, so we draw nothing from your facility supply and there is no work order to raise. We send crew names, vehicle details and insurance documents ahead of the day so your security team can clear us before we arrive, and we park outside the secure envelope.

Constraint one: getting us through the gate

Access is the whole job, and it is decided weeks before the food.

On most sites the catering conversation starts with the menu. On a data centre it starts with who is coming, in what vehicle, with what identification, and who is walking them in. If that is not sorted early the truck sits at the boom gate while your team stands around inside wondering where lunch is.

So we do that part first. Crew names, licence details, vehicle registrations and dimensions, our certificate of currency for $20M public liability, and our food safety documentation, all sent through as soon as the booking is confirmed. If your site runs its own induction, send us the pack and we will complete it rather than turning up hoping to do it on the day.

We are also completely comfortable being escorted, being restricted to a specific area, and staying out of anywhere we have not been cleared for. Tell us the boundary and we will work inside it. We do not need to walk the floor, we do not need to be near the halls, and we do not need to plug into anything.

Constraint two: the facility itself

Nothing we do touches your power, your water or your air.

This is the single most useful thing about a food truck on a site like yours. We are not a caterer asking for a kitchen, a power drop and a tap. Every truck carries its own generator, its own gas and its own water on board. Facilities do not need to raise anything, and there is no new load on a supply that is deliberately engineered and deliberately monitored.

We cook in the truck, with the truck sealed and self contained, and we park where you tell us. In practice that is usually a car park, a loading area or a piece of hardstand well clear of intakes and generators. Send us a Google pin of the spot you have in mind and we will look at the approach on a map and tell you honestly whether the truck fits before anyone commits.

On dimensions: the fleet runs from 7 metres up to 11.5 metres long, 2.5 metres wide and 3.5 metres high, and we need roughly 2 metres clear either side to serve. Overhead clearance of 3.7 metres or more is comfortable. We do not go into underground car parks. Firm grass is usually fine, and a driveway is fine if it is wide enough.

Start to finish

How a data centre booking runs.

1

You tell us the headcount and the constraints

How many people, what date, and anything we need to know about access. If there is a security process, say so in the first message and we will start it straight away rather than at the end.

2

We clear the vehicle and the crew before the date

Names, licences, vehicle registration and dimensions, certificate of currency and food safety records, all sent across for your security and safety teams. If you have an induction pack, we complete it.

3

We confirm the standing spot on a map

A Google pin is all we need. We check the approach, the turning circle and the clearance, and we agree a spot that is well away from intakes, plant and anything sensitive.

4

We arrive escorted, serve, and pack down clean

We set up in the agreed spot, run entirely on our own supply, serve your window, then take our rubbish with us. One tax invoice with GST broken out, on terms of 7 to 14 days.

A distribution centre family day

Coles · Kemps Creek · 800 guests · booked for September 2026

A large access controlled distribution site, 800 staff and their families booked in for September 2026, and an all halal menu so the whole crowd can eat the same thing. The site rules, the standing spot and the run sheet were agreed well before the day.

The plan. A restricted site fed at scale without asking the facility for anything.

A crew of 220 on a live site

John Holland · 2 hour window · booked in 3 days

Not a data centre, but the same discipline: a controlled site, a fixed window, and a truck that arrives self contained and serves without needing anything from the site around it.

The result. All 220 fed inside two hours, three days after the first message.

A plant that could not stop

Simplot · shift teams since 2023

Feeding shift teams at an operating plant, over and over, from 2023 onward. The site kept running, we worked around it, and the relationship grew from there.

The result. A repeat booking pattern built on not getting in the way.

FAQ

What facilities and security teams ask us.

How much does it cost to cater 100 people at a data centre?

Most corporate jobs run between $18 and $35 per head plus GST, all inclusive of the truck, crew, setup, equipment and pack down. Two things move the number: your headcount, because the rate falls as it rises, and how many of our four trucks are still free on your date. The quickest way to a real figure is to send us both. We usually come back within the hour.

Do you need power, water or gas from our facility?

No, none of the three. Every truck carries its own generator, its own gas bottles and its own water tanks. Nothing plugs into your supply, so there is no work order for facilities to raise and no new load on the site. We just need a flat, safe place to stand.

Can you supply crew names and insurance documents for security clearance?

Yes, and we would rather do it early than late. We can send crew names and licence details, vehicle registration and dimensions, our certificate of currency for $20M public liability, and our food safety documentation. If your site has its own induction pack we will complete it before the day.

Where does the truck actually park?

Wherever you tell us, as long as it is flat, safe and clear of anything sensitive. In practice that is usually a car park, a loading area or a piece of hardstand well away from intakes and plant. Send us a Google pin and we will check the approach and clearance on a map before anyone commits. We do not go into underground car parks.

Can your crew be escorted the whole time?

Yes, and it is common. We are used to being escorted, being restricted to one area and staying out of everywhere else. We do not need access to the floor or anywhere near the halls. Tell us the boundary and we will work inside it without needing to be reminded.
