Up the mountains

Food truck catering across the Blue Mountains.

The mountains are one long ridge of villages, and the events up here tend to happen in beautiful spots with no kitchen anywhere near them: garden wedding venues, retreat grounds, guesthouse lawns, school ovals in Springwood and Katoomba. That is exactly the problem a self contained truck solves. We drive up from Sydney, park on the flat, and serve straight from the truck.

We carry our own power, gas and water, so nothing is needed from the venue. Pick your cuisine and we handle the rest.

Events we do here

Events in Katoomba, Leura and Springwood.

Mountain weddings

Garden venues, guesthouse lawns and private properties from Leura to Blackheath. We set up self contained, feed the room fast, then a late top up if you want one.

Retreats and corporate offsites

Retreat centres and offsite venues where the kitchen is small or nonexistent. We roll in, feed the group properly and roll out.

School days and fetes

End of year days, sports carnivals and fetes at schools from Glenbrook up to Katoomba. We park on the grounds and keep the line moving.

Community and family events

Club days, community events with council approval sorted, and big family gatherings in mountain backyards.

Menus

Hot menus for cool mountain days.

We run four trucks across six cuisines, so there is something for every kind of crowd. Birdman Korean fried chicken, low and slow American BBQ, Abu with all halal snack packs and kebabs cooked over the flame, Tex Mex tacos, Nillas Belgian frites and pizza. Hot food goes down especially well up here once the temperature drops. We also do breakfast as an added offering for an early retreat start.

Everything on the snack pack truck is all halal, and we can do gluten free wraps on request. Our snack packs are gluten free, though our trucks handle gluten across the menu so we cannot guarantee zero cross contact. We usually get about three orders out every 60 seconds depending on the menu, so nobody stands in the cold for long.

Not sure which truck suits your day? Have a look at the full menu and we will help you match it to your guests.

Pricing

Pricing, minimums and travel quoted up front.

Pricing starts from $18 per head plus GST, all inclusive, with a minimum of 60 guests. Weekend bookings have a $2,500 plus GST minimum. Most events land between $18 and $35 per head plus GST for the catering depending on the menu and event style. The per head rate covers the staff, setup and pack down, with a clear GST tax invoice afterwards.

Travel is free for any event within about an hour and a half's drive of our base in Lakemba. The lower Mountains, Glenbrook, Blaxland and Springwood, sit inside that, so there is usually no travel fee. Higher up around Katoomba and Leura it can tip past the line, so we check the exact address and break out any travel component separately, so you can see the catering rate and travel cost side by side before you book.

On numbers, a single truck comfortably serves 60 to 600 guests. We add a truck only when you ask, or for events above about 500. Want a feel for the figures first? Our pricing guide walks through it.

Access

Access for mountain venues and winding driveways.

Mountain venues are lovely and occasionally tight. Our trucks are 2.5 metres wide and 3.5 metres tall, so the driveway, gate and any overhanging trees need to clear that, ideally with 3.7 metres or more overhead, and we need a flat, safe spot to park at the end. The landowner or venue needs to confirm the site can be used for the event. Send us a Google pin of the spot and we check the access on the map before the day.

Public or council land, like a park, reserve, street or footpath, needs approval first, and that includes lookouts, so we cannot just pull up on public space and start serving. Our trucks are council approved with many NSW councils and we help with the paperwork, so a public event is still very doable. Tell us where you are thinking and we will check what your spot needs.

FAQ

Blue Mountains questions, answered.

Do you provide food truck catering in the Blue Mountains?

Yes. We bring our cuisine trucks up the mountains to Katoomba, Leura, Wentworth Falls, Springwood, Blaxland and Glenbrook for weddings, retreats, school days and community events. Mountain venues without a kitchen are exactly what a self contained truck is for.

Is there a travel fee for Blue Mountains events?

Travel is free for any event within about an hour and a half's drive of our base in Lakemba. The lower Mountains, Glenbrook, Blaxland and Springwood, sit inside that, so there is usually no travel fee. Higher up around Katoomba and Leura it can tip past the line, so we check the exact address and itemise any travel component in the quote, so you see the catering rate and travel cost before you book.

Can your trucks handle mountain roads and venue driveways?

Yes, with a quick check first. Our trucks are 2.5 metres wide and 3.5 metres tall, so a venue driveway or gate needs to clear that, ideally with 3.7 metres or more overhead, and we need a flat, safe spot to park at the end of it. Send us a Google pin and we check the access on the map before we confirm.

Where can you set up in the Blue Mountains?

Private property can work well when there is safe access and a flat spot: wedding venues, retreat grounds, guesthouses, school grounds and backyards are all options. The landowner or venue needs to confirm the site can be used for the event. Public spaces like parks, reserves, streets, footpaths and lookouts need council approval first. Our trucks are council approved with many NSW councils and we help with the food truck paperwork.

How much does Blue Mountains catering cost?

From $18 per head plus GST, all inclusive, with a minimum of 60 guests, plus any travel component for the location. Weekend bookings have a $2,500 plus GST minimum. Most events land between $18 and $35 per head plus GST for the catering itself depending on the menu. The per head rate covers the staff, setup and pack down, with a clear GST tax invoice afterwards.

What about cold or wet mountain weather?

We serve in the rain and the cold unless you want to call it off; it does not affect the truck. Guests tend to love a hot meal even more when the mist rolls in. If you have a covered spot for people to eat, that helps, but the truck itself keeps cooking regardless.

Can you provide halal and gluten free options?

Yes. Everything on our snack pack truck is all halal. We are not formally halal certified, and we are upfront about that. Our snack packs are gluten free and we can do gluten free wraps on request, though our trucks handle gluten across the menu so we cannot guarantee zero cross contact.

How quickly can we get a quote?

Send us your date, rough guest count and where you are in the mountains, and a clear quote usually comes back within the hour in business hours, with any travel component broken out.
